Dr. David C. Gibbs, Jr. – Founder of the Christian Law Association, a legal missionary ministry that defends the rights of churches and Christians nationwide, Dr. Gibbs has defended Christian liberty and parental rights in America for over 40 years. His message Conviction v. Preference was duplicated over five million times and spawned a revolution among Christian parents who decided to accept their God-given duty to educate their children consistent with their Christian faith. Dr. Gibbs is the father of four children and has authored seven books, including One Nation Under God.
Mrs. Glorianne K. Gibbs – Mrs. Gibbs has stood along side her husband, Dr. David Gibbs, Jr., for many years supporting and encouraging his vision. She has authored five books including the popular Georgie the Frog series, and as a mother of four grown children (all of whom are in full-time ministry) and grandmother of six, Mrs. Gibbs understands the joys as well as the struggles of homeschooling mothers.
Attorney David C. Gibbs III – Homeschool father of four children, Attorney Gibbs serves as General Counsel for Homeschool Legal Advantage, a ministry service to homeschool families nationwide. A graduate of Duke Law School, Attorney Gibbs is a dynamic speaker and litigator. He has authored five books, including Fighting for Dear Life: The Untold Story of Terri Schiavo and What It Means for All of Us. Mrs. Carin Gibbs – Mrs. Carin Gibbs, wife of David Gibbs III, is a godly wife and homeschooling mother. She holds a bachelors degree, but it is her outstanding character and integrity that captivates and compels others to a higher plain. Her spirit of cooperation and flexibility have allowed her to join wholeheartedly into the ministry of the Christian Law Association with her husband. She is a gifted speaker who communicates truth and wisdom from a mother’s heart.
Rev. Steven M. Kluth – Serving as the Director of Ministry Outreach for the Christian Law Association, Mr. Kluth has presented a challenging, Biblical message to Christian leaders nationwide to reach the next generation for Jesus Christ. It is his “joy to serve local church pastors, Christian parents, and other servants of the Lord who are on the ‘front lines’ of the battle for Biblical religious freedom in this country.”
Attorney Zachary S. Gray – After twenty-two years of service as a legal missionary at the Christian Law Association, Attorney Gray says, “Every day I wake up to the opportunity to serve God by serving God’s people and His church. That purpose sustains and drives me.” This loyal servant is an exemplary husband and father. All of his children in various stages of their lives have shared in his excitement and labors at the Christian Law Association. Attorney Gray contributes knowledge, skill, and Biblical wisdom to this ministry.
Attorney Christine Field – Admitted to practice in 1986 and a published author of various aspects of homeschooling, Attorney Fields is a homeschooling mother of four and has found a home for herself with the Homeschool Legal Advantage. “I asked God to guide me to meaningful work where I could use my legal training and practice my faith openly. God has answered my prayer abundantly.”
Mr. Michael J. Adams – Mr. Adams works in the Media Relations Department at the Christian Law Association. His parents are both educators and as a proud new father himself, Mr. Adams and his wife, Chelsea, are thrilled to be a part of a ministry that ”serves families who are following their God-given command to educate and train their children.”
Attorney Will Halker – Attorney Halker served our country as a paratrooper with the 101st Airborne in Vietnam and Lieutenant Colonel of the Military Intelligence Branch. Former law-school dean and professor, he has practiced law for twenty-six years. Attorney Halker has truly lived an exciting life, yet he finds that “Today, working with CLA, keeps me smiling. Of all the adventurous jobs I have had, this is far and away the most satisfying.”
Rev. Lester Hutson – As a Ministry National Field Representative, Rev. Hutson has served as a pastor for over fifty-three years and has authored several books. He wholeheartedly believes Dr. Gibbs and Attorney Gibbs to be “men of irreproachable integrity and extreme competence. The resources of this ministry are tremendous and can do so much to protect pastors and churches and reduce their liability. I consider it an honor and a privilege to contribute my time and energies to this vital ministry.”
Attorney Drew A. Gardner – Former JAG in the United States Air Force, Attorney Gardner served at the Christian Law Association for several years. He currently pastors in Ohio and is one of CLA’s valued affiliate attorneys. He and his wife, Kelly, homeschool all seven of their children and find tremendous pleasure in teaching and discipling at the home front and in the church.
Attorney John Wells – For nearly forty years, Attorney Wells has practiced in various areas of law. Originally from Kentucky, he brings a wealth of experience to the table including his involvement in Christian school administration. He is a firm believer in the quality education homeschooling offers the next generation.
Attorney Stephanie Shermeta – Admitted to the Florida Bar in 2009, Attorney Shermeta brings a fresh legal perspective to the ministry. She is held in high esteem for her dependability, resourcefulness and ability to assess a situation and work toward resolution. She considers it “an honor and privilege to work with men and women who are dedicated to the Lord’s work and passionate about serving others.” Attorney Shermeta believes in and is honored to serve and defend homeschoolers nationwide.
Mr. William Slater – Mr. Slater has twenty-five years experience in school administration and currently is pursuing a law degree. He founded a successful umbrella school for homeschoolers in 1995, and along with his wife, Danielle, founded Academic Advantage, a company that distributes textbooks and publishes record keeping materials to homeschoolers. Mr. Slater, both father and grandfather, is a seasoned speaker at business gatherings, homeschool meetings, and churches.
Attorney Richard Cummings – Former college professor and attorney with the Christian Law Association, Attorney Cummings retired to California with his wife, Gerry Ann. He is a gifted communicator and former students evaluate him as an “absolutely wonderful teacher.” In addition to his diverse abilities in and out of the courtroom and classroom, he speaks German fluently. His calm manner and compassionate spirit coupled with his knowledge of man’s law and God’s law are a winning combination.
Virginia Vagt - Writer, speaker, contributing editor and thirteen-year veteran homeschooling mom, Virginia Vagt brings a lift and a fresh perspective to homeschool families. “I gain joy and confidence when I get to be with other moms and friends at homeschool support group meetings, co-ops (and picnics!). So, any way I can, I want to expand opportunities for us to build each other up in the Lord.
